NEWARK, N.J. (TNND) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested for the murder of a New Jersey police detective, according to officials. The teenager, who was not identified by name because he is a minor, also shot a second officer who survived, authorities confirmed.

A police officer was shot and killed and another wounded on Friday evening in New Jersey, authorities said. Authorities say the slain officer, 26-year-old Joseph Azcona, was part of a Newark police intelligence team that had gone to capture a suspect in an illegal weapons investigation when he was fired on in his vehicle.
