Newark resident Julius Gaines, 56, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses in connection with the fatal stabbing of East Orange resident Rodney Mayes, 56. The killing occurred in the ShopRite parking lot at 206 Springfield Avenue, after a verbal dispute between the individuals Monday evening, according to officials.

A North Jersey man was stabbed to death outside a ShopRite grocery store in Newark on Monday night, cops said. Rodney Mayes, a 56-year-old man from East Orange, was killed following an argument outside the store, NJ.com reported.
